She is a hard working Mother, a Community Leader and our Volunteer of the Month for September 2016.
Over the last two years, Julia Monk has been one of Habitat for Humanity's most active volunteers. She chaired the committee for our first Women Build Project in over 10 years helping to raise awareness of the growing need to help hard-working single mom's gain access to safe, affordable housing. Julia volunteers at nearly every Habitat event including Heels & Hammers, Springfest, and she is our pancake Queen at the annual Bikes, Blues & BBQ Breakfast. Leading by example, Julia volunteers on our work site swinging a hammer, climbing ladders, and working with power tools. In addition to working on site with the Women Build Committee, Julia organized a group of her coworkers from Case Stack who all gave us their time on a Saturday morning to work on the build site.
Julia's contributions of time and talent continue to be a blessing, as does her positive energy which consistently keeps other volunteers motivated and excited to assist Habitat in our mission to give hard-working families the opportunity to purchase safe, affordable homes.
Thank you Julia for all you do, for Habitat for Humanity and for our community!
