Habitat for Humanity partners with University of Arkansas IFC
University of Arkansas IFC and the Sandoval family!
On Wednesday, September 10, 2014 Habitat for Humanity of Washington County broke ground on our 52nd home in Washington County, AR. Habitat is thrilled to be partnering with the University of Arkansas Interfraternity Council on this project. William French, IFC Vice President of Community Service, has been the driving force behind this project. Through his leadership IFC has pledged $40,500.00 and they are working to raise additional funds to complete the project. Will explains that, “Many of the chapters hold service as one of their core values, so we have taken multiple steps to try and improve our involvement in the local Fayetteville community over the years. We are excited for the Sandoval family and are looking forward to helping them fulfill their dream of a new home.” We had a wonderful turn out from IFC and Greek Life for this ground breaking and can't wait to raise the walls on this home.
This home is being built for Delmy Sandoval a single mother of three children. She has recently completed her Bachelor of Business and is working for Tyson Foods. In addition to her 3 children, Delmy has taken in other young adults struggling to get an education. She is looking forward to having a safe, stable home for her family.
Watch for opportunities to join us on the worksite for this project beginning mid-October.
