On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, we will be part of a call to action that should help make history. We are celebrating a day dedicated to giving. A day when non-profit organizations, families, businesses, community centers, students, retailers and more will all come together for #GivingTuesday — A movement to celebrate and kick-off the holiday season of giving.
Last year, more than10,000 organizations in 46 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. We are asking you to join the movement and to help get out the give thisDecember 2nd.
The commencement of the holiday season with Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday is always an exciting time … But let us remember that this is a season of giving and celebrating the good in our communities. #GivingTuesday was started to bring personal philanthropy back to the holidays.
You can be a part of this global giving day while still giving local. Once you have made your donation to Habitat for Humanity of Washington County, be sure to let us know what motivates your giving by posting your un-selfie on social media. Tag Habitat for Humanity (see links below), and challenge your friends and family to join the movement.
You do not have to be a world leader or a billionaire to give back. #GivingTuesday is about bringing communities together to do extraordinary things.
