No one lives in dignity until we ALL live in dignity!
Habitat for Humanity has been providing the opportunity for hard-working families to gain access to safe, affordable housing in Washington County for 25 years. As we wrap up 2016 we will complete our 53rd and 54th homes welcoming two more single mothers into the Habitat family. These women have been diligently working with Habitat to achieve their goal of providing a stable home for their families.
As we reflect on our accomplishments, Habitat is also focused on the great work ahead of us. In Northwest Arkansas, there are more than 82,000 people currently living below the poverty line, including 14,000 children. Each of these families are hoping for a new start.
It has been shown that access to safe, affordable housing results in better health, advanced educational outcomes, and improved employment opportunities. In an effort to provide these opportunities, we are asking our community to help celebrate Habitat's 25 years in Washington County with a $25 donation. Together, we hope to raise $25,000.
With your contribution toward our $25,000 goal, we can help these families thrive. There is no gift too small or too large! Please help us as we build homes, community, and hope!
"Habitat gives us an opportunity which is very difficult to find: to reach out and work side by side with those who never have had a decent home -- but work with them on a completely equal basis. It's not a big-shot, little-shot relationship. It's a sense of equality." ~ former U.S. President Jimmy Carter
